The directory <glossdir>/mv/xml/ of the gloss distribution contains the MV code for the basic processing of "normal" xml files, xsl files, and of processing mv and modes files. Other extensions are comparitively straightforward to write. A minimal html mv is provided as an example, though more sophisticated html mvs are available in gloss elsewhere.
